Swiss O Week – the Swiss multi-day orienteering event
The Swiss O Week Association ensures that the Swiss O Week takes place regularly. A new organising committee is formed for each Swiss O Week.
Various helpers, heads of department and organising committee members have donated their compensation from past Swiss O Weeks to the Swiss O Week Association. This provides the initial financing of future SOWs.
SOW supports small orienteering events in the Alps
The Swiss O Week Association also wants to use this money to support small orienteering events in the mountains. This is why the Swiss O Days were created. Orienteering should also take place in areas that, for whatever reason, cannot be used for a Swiss O Week or for regional or national events. The Swiss O Week Association provides the maps to the local O clubs, covers any losses arising from the Swiss O Days and compensates the local clubs and junior squads that are engaged in the organisation of the Swiss O Days.
